DERBY CARTAXO 2010

Dear Pigeon Fancier,

We start to receive the first pigeons for the Derby Cartaxo 2010.

The next transport to Portugal from Belgium will be on the 02-04-2010. Mr. Eddy Grootjans from Natural will receive the pigeons in Belgium ( Ranst) is contact is 00-32-496793225.

If you have pigeons ready and you would like to send them before please contact me to arrange the transport. If they are only ready after 02-04 please contact me to arrange transport before 15-04-2010.

Mr. Guy Van der Auwera from Lab. Belgica de Weerd can received some pigeons for the transport on the 02-04-2010. In this case the pigeons must be deliver to him on the 01 of April in Breda in Belgica de Weerd installations.

General Conditions for Participation

1. Which races are being disputed?

Final race will be Talavera 350 km

2. What is the period for reception of the pigeons?

The young birds should be sent between 1st March and 15 th April 2010.

3. What is the age of the pigeons at the time of sending?

At the time of sending the pigeons may not exceed 25 - 30 days of age.

4. How to send the pigeons from overseas?

If you intend to send the pigeons by plane, you must contact the organization bye the number 00-351-936309657 or send a email to derbycartaxo.europe@gmail.com them we explain how to do it.

5. What documents should be sent with the pigeons?

The following documents should be sent with the pigeons:
· Health Certificate
· Pedigrees + Ownership Documents.
· Declaration of vaccination against Newcastle's Disease (In that case indicate the vaccine used).
· Invoice/Declaration of donation to the Grupo Columbófilo do Cartaxo with the notation "No commercial value ".

2nd Derby Cartaxo

Conditions for Participation

1. The Competition is open to participation by Portuguese and foreign pigeon fanciers.

2. Each individual pigeon fancier may register up to 10 pigeons with 2010 leg rings.

3. Reserve pigeons may be sent under the following conditions:

- For each team with 5 pigeons there may be sent 1 reserve pigeon.

The reserve pigeons do not pay a registration fee. They will be included from the beginning in the team and are able to compete and win any one of the disposable prices.

4. The pigeon fanciers may group together choosing a name for the team. In this case there may be registered up to 10 young pigeons for each one of the pigeon fanciers who comprise the team. At the tome of registration there should be sent a list of the pigeon fanciers who comprise the team identifying them by name.

5. The registration fee € 50 (Fifty Euros), per young pigeon, which will allow them to compete for the prizes in the attached list.

6. The prize table applies for a minimum participation of 350 pigeons.

7. In case registrations do not reach 350 pigeons, the prizes will be calculated proportionally to the number of pigeons registered.

8. Registrations will only be valid when accompanied by the value corresponding to the registration.

9. The registration may be paid in cash, cheque or by bank transfer. Entry fees could be paid directly to the coordinators in the moment you bring the pigeons or by bank transfer (expenses paid by the sender).

10. PRIZE TABLE

a) - Overall Classification

Prizes (minimum 350 pigeons)

1st Prize: €5000 + Diploma

2nd Prize: €2000 + Diploma

3rd Prize: €1000 + Diploma

4th Prize: €500 + Diploma

5th Prize: €300 + Diploma

6th to 10th Prize: €200 + Diploma

11th to 50th Prize: € 50 + Diploma

b) - Classification in the official trainings (Trainings to count for the Ace Pigeon):

o Price money for the 5 first pigeons. The value will be calculated after all the registrations finish and will be published on the internet site.

c) - Classification of the Ace Pigeon:
Classification of the Ace Pigeon is established through the sum of points obtained in the last three trainings and the final race.

Prizes:

o 1st Prize: 500 €+ Diploma + Golden Ring ( sponsored by Mr. Antonio Jose Hernandez Valderrama)

o 2nd Prize: 250 €+ Diploma

o 3rd Prize: 100 €+ Diploma

11. TRAINING CALENDAR

The training calendar will be divulged on the official site of the Derby Cartaxo at the appropriate time.

12. FINAL RACE

Date: Saturday, 17 July 2010
Release area: Talavera – 350 Kms.

13. AUCTION

All returned pigeons from Final Race will be public auctioned. The first 50 pigeons arrived, will be 50 % of auction sum for the owner ( person which entered the pigeon) and 50 % for the Organization. The others pigeons will be 100% for the Organization.

Participants who do not, supply the organizers with pigeons pedigree until Final Race day, will loose the right to receive 50 % from auction.

14. DERBY INFORMATION

All information (results from training races, videos of arrivals, performance of pigeons ) will be sent to the email that you provide with registration all weeks,

We will try to make a Live broadcast of the arrival, via Internet, on the Final Race.

15. MISCELLANEOUS

- All the pigeons will be ringed with electronic rings, since they will be registered by the electronic Unikon system.
- The Grupo Columbofilo do Cartaxo will keep the pigeon information permanently updated on their Internet page www.derbycartaxo.loftgest.com
- Property of the pigeons:
All the participating pigeons are considered to be the property of the Grupo Columbofilo do Cartaxo, being up to them to decide their disposition.
